Introductory seminars on our communicative methodology (based on English literature but adapted to teaching German as a foreign language)
Suitable for interested people without any teaching experience but also for experienced German teachers, simply looking for new input
Seminars can be booked independently.
All seminars have highly practical content.
Participants have the opportunity to actively observe our teachers in our running German courses and practice the acquired knowledge on "real" students.
Costs: 80,00 € per seminar, 60,00 € per seminar when booking more than one seminar
Maximum number of participants: 10

How to teach grammar

Engaging techniques for introducing new grammar structures in a student-centered way.

How to teach fluency

Mixture of communicative techniques, exercises from drama / theater sector, storytelling and minimal resources.

Feedback in the classroom

Single seminar on feedback. This seminar is not only about feedback techniques on the teachers side, but also about how I, as a teacher, receive feedback from my students, to give me a growing opportunity.

How to teach listening comprehension

Single seminar on listening comprehension. We will pay close attention to this skill, as it is often misunderstood by teachers and students alike. Together, we will take a close look at the goals and theory of effective listening comprehension exercises and provide you with creative and fun methods, which actually implement the theory and goals.

How to teach writing

Single seminar on writing skills. Choosing topics and exercises and designing the writing phase, as well as feedback techniques.

Classroom management

Single seminar on classroom management and the different variables of succesful learning. We will take a look at group dynamics, effects of seating arrangements, the role and language of the teacher. These skills are especially important in the beginner levels.

How to teach pronunciation

Single seminar on teaching pronunciation in German. After a quick overview of the most important problem areas of pronunciation for students learning German, we will take a look at where it is most efficient to implement teaching pronunciation.

How to teach ONLINE

Implement the communicative teaching approach while teaching online

Insula is a great language school to learn German in Cologne! It is like a family for me learning with them for 7 months.
